Libby Hill - Situational Mutism

Libby will look at what situational/selective mutism is and why we see it co-occur so often in children and young people with PDA.

She will talk about how to support them effectively.

'If we look at PDA through a polyvagal lens we can see it is a stress response which may often be described as fight or flight. With PDA we also see other stress responses as described by Sally Cat e..g funster and fibster but the most common other one is freeze i.e. selective mutism.'
